Does anybody know where i could look at a map of postcode boundaries in Glasgow?

Also, could somebody give me directions to the Laurieston Social Services Ofice on Pollockshaws Road. How do i get there from Partick??

Cheers

Is there a Social Work/Services office on Pollokshaws Rd?

Gorbals and Govanhill Social Services office cover that area.

As far as i know there are two offices which cover that neck of the woods.

South East covers the following areas:
Battlefield, Carmunnock, Castlemilk, Cathcart, Croftfoot, Crossmyloof, Dumbreck, Gorbals, Govanhill, Hutchestontown, King's Park, Langside, Laurieston, Mount Florida, Oatlands, Pollokshields, Queen's Park, Shawlands, Simshill, Strathbungo and Toryglen.

Some directions:

Gorbals / Govanhill - Twomax Building
It should be noted that the Twomax Building is an old, converted factory building in the midst of new build housing in the Gorbals area

By train - nearest stations are in centre of town at Glasgow Central or Glasgow Queen Street

By underground - Stations located in centre of town at: – Buchanan Street (entrances at top of Precinct at Buchanan Galleries and adjacent to side entrance/exit from Queen Street train station); St Enoch Square (next to shopping centre)

Nearest Underground station to Gorbals is at Bridge Street

Alight at Bridge Street Station; turn sharp right when leaving the station i.e. as if going behind the entrance; and make your way across car park onto Norfolk Street diagonally ahead of you and turn right along Norfolk Street.

Walk along Norfolk Street, past school on your right and Sheriff Court building on your left-hand side; go through the crossing at Gorbals Cross; Legal House is on the corner of the crossing ahead on your right. Carry on along Ballater Street past the Tulip Inn on your right hand side and the Nautical College on your left.

Carry on through major traffic light crossing just past Tulip Inn and along Ballater Street until you come to the church on the corner of Commerce Street on your right hand side; Gorbals Leisure Centre & Pool is across the road on your right.

Turn right down Commerce Street to the bottom of the street and then turn right again onto Old Rutherglen Road.

The main entrance to the Twomax Building is 15/20 yards along on the right hand side opposite a small walled park area.

Hope that helps.

There's a benefits office (I think) on Pollokshaws Rd.,
just before the St Andrews works coming from the
city centre. Also there's a social work/services office
diagonally behind Bridge St. subway at Norfolk St./
Coburg St. If you think that it could be any of these
let me know and I'll give you directions as best I
can.

I'm sure most A-Z type maps give postcodes.

Maybe not :?

Postcode look up files are available from the General Register Office for Scotland. Check their website.

Thankyou all.

I eventually found it on google earth after discovering that there is a small stretch of pollockshaws road right next to the Gorbals but for some reason on the letter it has G41 which on my map was Pollockshields area. The building is pretty big but not that big. Apparently if i get off at Bridge Street Underground and walk down Eglington Street, under the railway bridge then turn at the second left i should come to pollockshaws road. Google earth is magic and so are all of you because i wouldn't have bothered looking anywhere near the Gorbals if it hadn't been mentioned.

Don't worry about the Postcode thing. I am just curious as to what areas share the same postcode.

Thanks

I know this could be considered a long shot, but have you thought of trying Google? You might have found this:

There are plenty of other suppliers!
