"bar the mens' outfitters" should be inserted after Goldbergs in the above sentence.

On Sauchiehall St.:
Coplands
Dalys
Pettigrews

In my young day (50's) it was 'Coipeland & Lye' & ''Pettigrew & Stephen'

I have uploaded a number of old ads from Glasgow companies, and yes there are ones from Pettigrew & Stephens, Goldbergs and Lewis's among others. Your great granny would have problems remembering some of them so If you can remember more than 20 of them then you are dead and just don't know it.

Happy viewing. :)

Don't know about that, but I've noticed that White Lightning certainly makes people get out of bed first thing in the morning to queue outside my local Newsagents/Off-Sales.

I got this at the Barras today. It was posted on 30th November 1925. Does anyone know why there is a sign saying 'Treron et Cie' ? (I did a search honest Dex.)

Does anyone happen to have any photos of the Christmas window displays that were in most of the department stores in the 60s and 70s especially Lewis's or Arnotts/Frasers?

Cheers
