Books about Glasgow

I've just joined the site, so I don't know if anyone else has posted this info, but there are loads of public domain books about Glasgow at

There is even an extensive set of Glasgow Post Office Directories ranging from the early 19th century to well into the 20th.

I would recommend downloading the DjVu format of the books, as they only take up about 10% of the space of the PDF files. You can download a free DjVu viewer at

http://windjview.sourceforge.net/

I don't recommend the Kindle versions, as many are so badly formatted as to be virtually unreadable.

Can't remember if I've posted this before. Was given this about 20 years ago when I worked in a design studio that was involved in various Glasgow campaigns. It's crams in a few Kelvinhallfulls of barleysugar columns, tympanums and cartouches as it makes its way around the city streets. Technical, but in an amiable way.
