AK47? What's Scottish about the AK47, unless you count the occasional IRA or UVF arms caches that turn up from time to time? The arms gallery in Kelvingrove was mainly focused on Scots-made firearms. Most stuff was old too, the newst guns on display were a couple Boer War vintage .577 Martini-Henry rifles.

Question is, will the young lady pictuired above be on hand to demonstrate the guns at the all-new, all-singing, all-dancing Kelvingrove  .

She's not holding an AK47, BTW, it's a Heckler & Koch rifle.

iIt was handed in on the last [don’t quote me on that] gun amnesty so you can see where the Glasgow connection is - sort of :? ::):

Is the AK47 is full working order, or a de-act ?

I could buy a de-act tomrrow. It's a bit worrying if someone walked into a polis station with an AK to put in the amnesty bin, and no one asked questions :D Not the sort of thing you could hide in your pocket.

Visited Summerlee in Coatbridge yesterday (Wed' 9th August 2006) and the power car of the class 311 EMU was being lifted onto a low-loader. The 2 driving trailer were not there! Does anyone know where it is going?

The coach that was lifted onto the low loader has gone down south for scrap, the other 2 coaches have been moved round to the back of the site.
