Postby Sydney Rosewater » Sun Mar 19, 2006 1:49 pm

I have on dvd (transferred from ancient vhs from a guy in the pub) a five-episode documentary series about the East End of Glasgow which were made/transmitted in 1982/83. Has anyone seen them or remember them? They are amazin, capturing the closure of Parkhead Forge among other things. Pm me if you wanty send me a blank dvd and a stamp for postin it back wi the shows on it.
EDIT: As of 1st April, had plenty of PM's from folk who'll recieve quality viewin! Offer Now Closed!

One didn't Buzz Glue it was either sniffed or snogded. On the other hand Gas was buzzed.

Not that I participated in either but growing up in the shadow of Castlemilk makes me more than qualified to correct the turn of phrase in regards to idiotic solvent abuse(s).

I learned early what the risks were in such activities, tragically a guy a few of years above me at school died of a cerebral haemorrhage after buzzing a can of Big D, his death did the job of deterring most folk in his peer group/ School with the exception of a few hopeless cases from ever messing with that shit ever again. His passing wasn't in vain.
If he'd have lived he would be looking forward to his 39th birthday this year with a wife and kids no doubt! 8O

Missus HH recalls her days in a wee shop in Paisley Road West (1972ish) When those outside the law would queue up of a morning for their breakfast mix of "A boatill a' Mulk an' a boatill a' Bel Err"

Hi Sydney

Watched the DVD and say an old friend - Bill Sharkey. He is still living in the Gorbals and is Chair of Gorbals Arts Group and a member of New Gorbals Housing Association. Can't wait to speak to him about how he has changed over the years.

Fantastic programmes thanks again.

Hey Folks,

Talk about arriving late for the party.

After all these years is there any kind soul out there who would be willing to do me a copy of this DVD?

I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks for your time.

Kind Regards

Bryan
