Help with Lennox Castle

Got into a discussion with my parents tonight about Lennox Castle. Was trying to find a site where I found lots of information about it a few months ago. I know I found it through HG, because when I was ill and couldn't sleep at night I spent hours trailing through stuff here...

Anyway it was some person's page and they had pictures and wee storytelling bits about their wanders round the castle and hospital buildings. It's not one of the sites linked to under the projects bit, unless is changed since October time.

Anyone have any idea?

Cheers.

No problem. Looks like a breathtaking building, if a bit eerie in places.

Anyone know how much is still left? Heard that the whole thing was completely flattened! 8O

i dont know this has been posted already, forgive me guys if it has.
Celtic football club have been granted permission to turn it into a training ground, they agreed a sum of money to the owners (NHS).
personally dont have a problem with it, glad it not 'luxury flats or the like'
But I hear from a pal who is a big supporter, that all adminstration will be moved to the castle.

but then again dont believe it till ya see it.

This is what I understand: Celtic FC have been granted planning permission to build this academy, or whatever, but its on the top site.
The actual castle itself is owned by somebody, private owner.
Don't know whats happening with it, but its falling down.
A building company have asked for planning permission to build houses on the bottom site and will likely get it too.

There is a map of the proposed developments on the site in Lennoxtown library- from what I could see the castle itself was outside the boundaries of both the Celtic training complex and the housing development that's planned for the site, so who knows what's going to happen to it... I do know that there have been a few planning applications to turn it into flats in the past, but East Dunbartonshire Council rejected them on the grounds that it's greenbelt land and can't be used for residential purposes.
