Around 1990 I saw Dave Anderson going to an AMT and drawing money at the bank in Great Western Road across from the then BBC studios. Maybe they where still filming City Lights then

I clocked Dave Anderson back in 87, while I was waiting outside the ABC Sauchiehall St (for Star Trek 4). He had his arm wrapped python-like around a dishy young blonde bird about half his age. And I don`t think it was his daughter, either. Yet again, old Dave was hitting the AMT cashpoint. (Pricey business, them young birds!).

Meantime, further east along Sauchie, many sitings could be made of local celebs, curtesy of the then Cowcaddens-based STV Studios: Colin MacKay, Arthur Montford, John Toye, etc. Funnily enough, it was usually in John Menzies (now WH Smith) you`d mostly catch them. In to have a perusal of the top shelf, maybe?

I'd much rather have seen the pic than not but does reception at Pacific Quay really count as 'the streets of Glasgow' as far as celebrity spotting goes  :?:

I once spotted Donny McLeary (Sanjeev Kolhi's writing partner) coming out of Forbidden Planet.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

Can we agree that at least for the next week, Lib Dem politicians don't count?

I was walking back across the river about midnight on Thursday, and the entire SECC area was fenced off. In true HG fashion, I spotted a gap in the fencing and nipped through, turned a corner and found myself in a cloud of Polis.

I had a look at the raw polling data for a Guardian poll about six months ago. As I recall, there were several Scottish constituencies where, out of a polling base of several hundred people, one solitary person was declaring an intention to vote LIb Dem.

On which basis, there were probably two Polis for every Scottish Lib Dem voter. Excepting Orkney and Shetland, who - God bless 'em - have always been a law unto themselves.

Trying to think , not out all that much noo but saw BIlly Connelly passing the weans WEWW shop in Argyle st year ago.. was just leaving and shouted on him.. he said hello and gave me a wave.... long ago in the early 60s I saw actor Richard Widmark in Fordneuk st in Brigton.... IM not joking... was on my way back to John st school..when I saw a blonde man all tanned and wearing a shortie light coloured raincoat.. not only did we never see a man dressed like this back then but we didnt see a tan much either... I told some folk at school but no one believe it.... years later I wrote to Showbiz Sam about this , and he said AYE, that Richard had been here around that time visiting family.. and he had said that Brigton at that time resembled Chicago , I dont think that wiz a compliment either haha.

Was told last night that one of Robert Redford's sons is currently studying at Glasgow School of Art and as such Bob is often in town these days. First one to spot him wins a shiny gold star.
