anywhere near the straits of Malacca will do us.
"I before E, except after C" works in most cases but there are exceptions.

It wasn't called "The Clyde Model Dockyard" in my youth it was the "Argyle Model Dockyard" it had changed its name and you can still see the original shop frontage in the yesteryear section of Glasgow Museum of Transport at the Kelvin hall.

My God, the grandkids will like that. 'Look kids - I remember going into that wee shop up the toon when I was a wee boy' I feel auld enough without bits of my youth appearing in a museum. :(

There were some great model boats and model boatyards at the Richmond Park Model Boat Club open day.

They've got a wee Finnieston Crane and everything.

I used to run that shop when Iain was away on holiday, the old shop, two doors up, not the new location on the corner, he is one of life's gentlemen.

Seemed to me to be very overpriced at the time and very snooty with it. It was almost enough to put a wee boy off modelling for life.
A much better model shop was Glassford's, the shop in Cambridge St, Glasgow. Suppose that would be the Cowcaddens one referred to earlier.

I remember the Argyle mode dockyard under the 'Umbrella' very well - I got all my 1:24 scale Airfix aircraft models there, as well as some Tamiya F1 cars and my first R/C car - a Porsche 935 RSR Turbo if memory serves.

Jamiesons is quite a good wee shop - with the emphasis on "wee"! I found CMF on the web, need to check it out, and the one in Uddingston might well be worth a look too.
