So my mate was telling the truth all the time!

Glad you are enjoying the pictures - cameras and time machines? Pah, who needs 'em?

I definitely remember the Buck Rogers Burger Bar, I went in there with a group of friends only to find out that they weren't serving food that saturday afternoon & I think it closed a couple of weeks after that.

The decor was sort of corrugated cardboard painted to look metallic. Twiki wasn't home either. The guy behind the counter looked pretty apologetic as he took half an hour to serve up a burger - and in those days if you wanted a McDonalds it probably meant a visit to southern England (Big Macs were more exotic than kebabs in early 80's Glasgow)

I was just looking at the pictures, and firstly, the young boy in picture3 does not look happy at all!!
Rather, he looks almost to be saying 'why the Fcuk have they brought me here to this dump??'

Secondly, I know it was Buck rodgers and all, but I am still pretty amazed to see a 3 armed boy at the computer screen (picture 5), especially as one of his arms is a different colour!......

I'll get me coat

I guess I haven't been dreaming about this for years, I remember going with my Dad and best pal Jillian when it opened - I actually thought it was pretty good, but I was only 11 at the time!

Well, at 11 yrs old, your standards arent set too high. Especially in the early late 70's/80's. Not like the kids today tho'

I was sooo excited as this place still sticks out in my childhood memories!

I thought it was pure magic!
The first time I went was on my 6th birthday.
At that point in time Buck Rogers & burgers were way out! I'd never had a burger before & I thought I was sooo cool.
Although, nowadays it's deemed naff to eat burgers, noone can spoil my memories! I'm sure, just like other folk have mentioned that it was extremely tacky & a bit rubbish & home-madey looking buit to a 6 year old wee girl from Dennistoun it was the bee knees. :D

Can't remember who (sorry! ) but, someone had posted some images but unfortunately I can't view them.I am begging whoever had them to re-post them.Pleeeease!I would be sooo grateful. :)

BTW-Modern Fossil- I must meet you in person so that I can buy you a pint & be able to spend time in the company of such a fantastic individual who managed to work there.
