By kind permission of the mods, I wanted to give the details of a book I have just published on Amazon on aspects of Glasgow’s aviation history. It was part of a ten year project started in July 2009 to cover the full history of aviation in upper Clydeside, but unfortunately the whole project did not get completed, so I just decided to go ahead with my areas which were:

Chapter 1 BEA Operations at Renfrew 1st Feb 1947 – 1st May 1966
Chapter 2 Other British Airlines at Renfrew 1st Feb 1947 – 1st May 1966
Chapter 3 Overseas Airlines at Renfrew 1st Feb 1947 – 1st May 1966
Chapter 4 BEA Maintenance & Test Pilots Department 1st Feb 1947 – 1st May 1966
Chapter 5 Civil Rotary Operations in Clydeside
Chapter 6 Civil Gliding
Chapter 7 SFC Post War
Chapter 8 Flying Clubs
Chapter 9 Renfrew Airport Infrastructure & Developments 1st February 1947 – 1st May 1966
Chapter 10 GUAS, UGSAS & 4 AEF
Chapter 11 The Flight of Rudolf Hess 10th May 1941
Chapter 12 The Clydebank Blitz & other Luftwaffe attacks
Chapter 13 Miscellaneous (Seaplanes/Balloons/Microlights/Light aviation)
Chapter 14 Rolls Royce

I must stress the book (title - From the Blitz to University Flying) only covers certain areas (More of Renfrew than of Abbotsinch) but it covers the above areas in great depth and would appeal to those who like their aviation history. Link here -

Hi Targer, anyone I have met who had a connection with RR Hillington has always spoken well of their time there.
