Hillington Housing (on Hartlaw Crescent/Chirnside Place)

Postby City_Of_Dreams » Thu Nov 08, 2018 10:24 am

I've passed this development of low rise flats near Hillington East station a number of times and plan to take some pictures today.I am interested in all post war architecture, and these caught my eye because of they way they step down the hill.

I am sure that when I was talking to someone about how unusual they were, I was told they used to be nursing accommodation or something like that? I can see they were refurbished after 2008, with new 'skins' and roofing, as well as possibly having stairs added or improved.

Does anyone have any info on the background of this development? I'm not having much luck with my own research.

Thanks.
