Pollok Park & Queens Park in Glasgow

Postby jazzycat » Wed Jun 07, 2017 2:37 pm

HI Everyone,
Ive been given a reason to do some research on the 'ancient' history of Queens Park & Pollok Park, Glasgow. I wondered if anyone can give me some pointers (or web links) to sources of info. regarding eg. the Iron Age Settlement that once was in Queen's Park, and the (Roman??) Fort that once stood in Pollok Park; Information about how old boundary walls are or how recently geographic features may have changed due to Landscaping would be good. eg. creation of cycle paths that permeate both Parks. Are there any good books or websites offering "readable" facts on either Parks' Modern/Ancient History?
Thanks

Sally
