My other half's dad remembered this very well, and told her of it. Apparently some of the trapped people had tried to escape via the chimney and had (fairly obviously) died in there. Sounds horrific to me.

Seems strange that despite growing up in Kirky, this is the first I've ever heard of these events.
Some people hear voices.. Some see invisible people.. Others have no imagination whatsoever.
