Rouken Glen? Im not so sure.

Postby BTJustice » Fri May 23, 2014 9:54 pm

I saw this picture earlier tonight on flickr;

ImageRouken Glen Boating Pond, Glasgow. by Paris-Roubaix, on Flickr

You can see that the caption says it is Rouken Glen but it dosnt look like any bit of Rouken Glen that I have ever seen.

So can anybody shed light on where this may be? If it is Rouken Glen then where about in the park would it be and what are the chimneys in the back ground?

Dave.

No

The short fat chimney does look like Tennant's stalk, which would fit the period and make this nearer central Glasgow.

FFS, why am I looking at chimney evidence :roll:

The site Busdriver linked to confirms it to be Rouken glen and from the information there I would guess the pond is now under the garden centre. Chimneys are interesting me now as ther are pretty substantial looking in size and I would make a guess at them being somewhere in Thornliebank or Darnley.
