The exclusion zone is just about the same as the last time, it's been shifted very slightly north eastwards to reflect the location of the building. I would reckon I'll be about 350-400 yards away when it goes bang, and knowing what happened when they blew up the Huthchesontown block in the Gorbals I don't want to be any closer!

Aye, point taken!

Any confirmation of the time? Doesn't appear to be on their website (Mind, I may be a tad hungover this morning!!)

They don't make the timing public as they want to try and keep the crowds away, it seemed to be counter productive the last time as there were hundreds of folk hanging around for hours!

Your best bet for updates is to keep an eye on https://twitter.com/SpringburnPol

Cheers for that peasy, will do.

I've got a photo of all the flats before any demolition, taken by my daughter about 6 years ago. Must see if I can find it.

Here we go. This is actually mine from 2007, but essentially the same pic as I was talking about.

Great shots, Peasy! I saw the dust cloud from on top of Queen's Park. Quite a monster it was. I wondered who it was chasing...

I have video but it could be some while before I extract anything from it.

Indeed, great captures peasy.

Where were you standing, then, top of Quarrywood or further round on Ryehill Road?

From five miles away by the flagpole at the top of Queen's Park. Timed at about the same moment as Peasy's second shot. Cropped video still. Still working on the video.

I'm reading this and video of the demolition has just appeared on on my local television news !

An amazing coincidence but one which, once again, reminds me of my ties with the Glasgow I left, as a ten year old, in December 1960.

Thank you, HG, for allowing me to keep in contact with my roots !

Apart from the one remaining slab block which we know about, what's the next one for the chop?

I was driving past at night yesterday and noticed that the two point blocks (93 and 123 Petershill Drive) are now in total darkness (the landing/fire escape lights are all off), yet the two westerly blocks (10 Red Road Ct and 33 Petershill Drive) had tons of lights on everywhere. I imagine they've decanted everyone into those two blocks in order to get started on the others.

Petershill Drive is mostly, if not exclusively, inhabited by asylum seekers now. I thought Red Road had been emptied (the lower floors are shuttered IIRC) but I could be wrong. I'll take a wee run round tomorrow if I get time.
