Is the Strathclyde Reginal Council sign, & logo, getting saved ?
It's an historical piece, be nice to save it in the archives.

I'd bulldoze the houses I stay in at Anniesland Cross above the shops their just not in keeping with the area at all we have beautiful red sandstone buildings either side of us and our horrid not to mention totally freezing in the winter houses slapped in the middle of them.

That'd be my 1st choice.

As a couple of you have mentioned my 2nd nominee is the building at Queen Street station that covers the original arch to the Queen Street enterance.

And last but not least those brand new buildings down by the River Clyde where the Granary used to be I think it's called Glasgow Harbour.

That is my 3 nominees for the bulldozer

Jim

Hi GK, I don`t know of any plans to save the signage but you`re more than welcome to have it :D Where would something like that be stored or displayed :?:

Probably not displayed, but stick it somewhere safe (the musuem archives ?).
Strathclyde Region wasn't exactly loved, but it was a part of our history.

I noticed that the lettering from the Clive House building had been removed sometime prior to the demolition works :?: Staying on thread this would have been on my bulldozer list along with strathclyde house, concrete buildings jut don`t do it for me, concrete should be restricted to water towers & bridges ::):

There's a Strathclyde Regional Council plaque stuck on a front pew in Glasgow Cathedral. I'm sure there are some more dotted around.

I like to see old out dated logos sometimes.

I hope the artwork is saved, along with anything else of interest. Just cos it's a bit of a manky building doesn't mean there aren't interesting features to it that are worthy of salvage!

Not much left to save but at least we have some pictures of the inside as it is before demolition.

Crusty was looking into that.

I have asked someone to have a look at it to see if the Council could keep the two panels. Unfortunately she is on holiday at the moment so will need to contact someone else in the section tomorrow.

Sent her copies of the photos.
