Postby StevenJ » Fri Jan 21, 2011 10:36 am

Hi,

Are there any shops left in Glasgow that sell coffee beans for ginding?

There used to be a shop on Renfield Street near the shaver centre but this closed years ago.....

thanks

Whittards sell 'em.

On a related note, does anyone know anywhere that sells green coffee beans?

A new shop I use is Coffee Chocolate and Tea, opp the Police station at 944 Argyle Street.
The use an excellent blend of coffee and it is all roasted in their vintage roaster.
What a fantastic smell :D

Thomsons. They sold beans for grinding  . I heard somewhere that it may be making a comeback of sorts.

I used to go to work along North Woodside Road in the 1950s. There used to be a place Algies? or Coopers in a wee road just beyond the 100 acre dairy shop that roasted coffee. The aroma was amazing especially on a cold frosty morning. In the 1950s used to go "downstairs" at Thomsons Coffee Shop. They sold coffee in a small sort of "business mans cafe". They had all sorts of exotic coffee to taste. Best of all you could buy the beans upstairs!

I hate coffee and it hates me. Like the concept of it, though.

Conceptulisation really doesn't get you very far, the reality always intrudes. :?
