Does anyone know if there is anything left to see of this place?

This site here http://www.borderstoday.co.uk/mk4custompages/CustomPage.aspx?PageID=22255 mentions that there are "bits and pieces" left over. So there probably ain't much kicking around.

As far as I can gather the site is now a Country Park.

However, I'd be interested to see what's left.

I was sitting having a quick flick through SCRAN and Roslin popped up. I remember Iain talking about it, someone he knew had done alot of research into the site.

I believe Roslin Glen is very beautiful. We were going to go for a wander about the place.

But he died before we did.

The weather's nice, let's all of us go this weekend. What's stopping us?

I was at North Berwick yesterday, near Tantallon Castle. Stunning beach, the water was as clear as I've EVER seen in Scotland, the sun was beating down (resulting in a burnt neck today) and the view was astounding.

I never feel at ease anywhere (always a bit jumpy, me) but I felt more peaceful there than I've ever done.

It's now my mission to find beautiful parts of Scotland, to prove to others that this is the best country in the world, bar NONE.

Have you been to the Applecross peninsula? Always deserted and always stunning, whatever the weather. If its dreich, take the high road over the Meall Gorm to Applecross with the mist hanging off the hills, if sunny take the coast route via Lonbain. You could almost convice yourself it was the Carribean (until you get out of the car). Most days you'll get the chance to do both .

The views of Skye are fantasic, the place itself incredibly beautiful . There is an inn which does BnB seafood to die for and at the end of the beach there is a huge steep sandbank that you can literally toboggan down. If it wern't for the midges I call this place heaven...

I sense a new topic about to be born. The MOST Beautiful places in Scotland.

My father came from Europe, and had places such as the Black Forest on his doorstep when he was young.

After settling in Scotland, he often expressed a complete lack of understanding of the Scots and why they wanted to leave to see the sights and scenery abroad, as there was simply nothing over there to compare with what they had on their own doorstep for free.

Glencoe and Buichille Etive. Especially when climbing. The views are insane and the tranquility is simply unbelievable. Then the fear grips you and you climb back down.
But dont look further than glasgow, some of the buildings we have are works of art. Look up next time you walk through town, see things and appreciate what the proliteriat don't see.
