 I'll give it a home if they can't be bothered. It was supposed to go to the Transport Museum.

I think is going to the new one. If they move it now it might get Dropped better off leaving it where it is for the moment

At least bring it inside the Tramway, a pallet truck could move it safely. There must be somebody in there who gives a rats arse :(

Contrary to common belief some people do care. Otherwise this would have been left to be taken away when that part of the building was demolished.

Before everyone makes any more assumptions I will make enquiries to find out what is happening to this stone and report back. If there is a delay in moving it to a safe home I will pass on GK's suggestion.

Cheers Alex.

Ach crusty, it would surely be better out of the weather, the frost can do terrible things.

I know frost 8) But the tarp could get blown away, pulled off, lost, stolen, or the stone could get forgotten about.
Best away in storage, but I know what you mean about the possibility of some lug cracking it :?

I suppose I agree but, Im not really wanting to get into a philosophical debate about the properties of wind and frost I was just baring the facts on how at risk the couple of hundred thousand year old bit of stone is. It could be that there isn't anywhere to store it safely at the moment or that GCC are looking into some way of displaying it within the Tramway complex , perhaps even in the Hidden Garden (hint hint GCC)?

The stone will be fine in the elements if its covered or stood on it's end, if niether is done the detail could be lost.

I've got a bit of a downer on that garden. the money was obviously there to build that, but not to make the rest of the building water tight.

I know some may say it brought extra income (via the cafe), but it's still a strange idea to tend to your garden while the roof is hanging off
