I'm kind of sorry to see them go in landmark terms on the Glasgow skyline. Always liked the way they reared up out of the plain as you approach the city from either the M8 or the Edinburgh/Glasgow railway line. However as a place to live? Disasterous and costly (in more ways than one) experiment in social engineering. Interested to see what will follow. Will it be an urban scheme or a suburban noddy land?

OK here's mine...

1) Tay House. Not only is it a total eyesore, but I used to work there for a 'large bank' and hated every moment of it. Worst job I've ever had.

2) Direct Line Building. Forgotten what street it is exactly but it's down near Wellington Street. I assume you are all very lucky people and haven't actually seen this building because only that could explain why I'm the first to mention it. The worse building I have ever seen, anywhere, ever.

3) Former Strathclyde Regional Council Building, St Vincent Street. Since there's already a big chunk missing from the side knock it down already!

Just 3? Okay

1. The new buildings at Glasgow Royal Infirmary (and now they're adding a multi-storey car park, yuk.
2. Not a building, but the bridge from Central Station running over Argyle Street. Yes, I know the trains couldn't run but it horrible
3. UGC - a monster, ugly, ugly, ugly

and can I add another one -

The new flats at Hanson Street in Dennistoun - utterly revolting like something from a Stalinist Gulag.

Hey, I quite like the St. Enoch Centre. So many people seem to hate it. Maybe it's just me. Pity about all the shops though. Get rid of them and the place would look even better.

Agree about the Buchanan Galleries though. Boring!!

It's in part down to what they demolished to build that thing i.e. this:

how great would it be if they ripped out all the shops and gubbins from the inside and turned it into a giant arboretum. imagine it.... the equal of kew gardens(a world heritage site)....towering rainforests, swamps, mangroves, deserts... they could fit the lot in there.
