Weirdly enough, after just posting about this, tonight I served Darren O'Dae in Spar.

No idea who he was until two wee boys who were in the shop told us he played for Celtic!!

Dominic Behan (Brendan's brother) in the Director's Box in Hope Street in 75. He had a BBC Scotland or STV show in the early 70s (Dominic Sings). He lived in Albert Drive. Bob Dylan's 'With God on Our Side' is a lyrical rip-off of Behan's 'The Patriot Game'.

A few years ago on a Saturday afternoon I was passing the A1 Comics shop in Parnie Street. There was a black limo outside the shop with huge bouncers standing at the door and a crowd had gathered and when I asked around I was told it was Eminem in the shop. When he eventually came out he ran from the door straight into the limo bent doubled so no one could see him and he got booed ::):
Sometimes you remember why your proud to be a Glaswegian.

I barely know what a famous person looks like but I need meet and say hello to Mince Fratelli of The Fratellis today on Bath Street. I've seen the band 12 times so it makes sense. ::):

I once saw that Paul McCartney drive west along the Cathedral Street bridge over Queen Street Station. I was on a 42 bus at the time and remember pointing out Macca to the bus driver who looked at me as though I'd just been unexpectedly sick on his shoes and muttered something along the lines of 'so f*ck...'. Obviously not a fan. He might have been more in tune with dusky Welsh songstress Iris Williams whom I once saw coming out of BHS in Sauchiehall Street clutching and Evening Times and a can of soft drink.

Other legends I've been lucky enough to spot in and around Glasgow include Wreckless Eric in McCormacks in Bath Street back in 1978. In the Boilermakers Club in Clydebank I once saw actor Jackie Farrell - famous (ok...) for playing crooked 'Councillor Cully' in the late 'Garnock Way', (a soap from STV set in 2 rooms and a hotel bar halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh) years ago.

In the late 1990's, I saw actor William Armour sing Sweet Caroline in a little pub off Glasgow x called McKinnon's Bar. William (or Billy) Armour was the outdoors but suave Hamish McNeil in 'Take the High Road', the celebrated STV soap set in the Unlikely Accent district of Loch Lomonds Home Counties region. He was quite a good singer, in a cabaret kind of way.

Saw Billy Connolly 4 times in 70's /80's in Byres Road and Windsor - he was wearing a cloak the first couple of times. I asked him if I could take a photie - he declined the offer Image

Saw loads of people in McCormacks in the 70's - Jethro Tull, AWB in fact everybody.
Ford Kiernon lived near ME 8)
Blythe Duff in Marksies - a lot
Bumped into Kenny Dalgleish going up the stairs in Mitchell Sreet car park.
Peter Mullan in Sauchiehall Street laughing and giving his kid a piggy back.
Best one yet tho was my daughter was working in a shop in Broomhill Cross bored out her mind staring out the window (no doubt long queue of people) when who walks by but Morgan Freeman and Bob Hoskins - filming in Glasgow. She got the names wrong at first said it was Samuel L Jackson and Danny De Vito - other well known double act. :D
