Anybody remember these attachments? They transformed your ZENIT into something resembling a short assault rifle. Probably best left in the cupboard these days when photographing royal parades, government buildings, etc.

Yes I do. Guaranteed to get the attention of the current exponents of security theater.

If a poor Brazilian gets shot for getting on the underground, God only knows what would happen if you were seen out in public with this gem

This type of thing is still popular with birders and some wildlife photographers, so I hear: does away with the need for a tripod to some extent. I suppose if you're out on the moors you just might get away with it, but I'm not sure how it'd go down in George Square or Central Station or Glasgow Airport. I remember these being the very epitome of photographic desirability back in the 70s though - at least in the lowly circles in which I moved. 'Bronica Twin Lens Reflex, on the house sir? No thanks my good man - just give me a gross of your finest Zenit ES Photosnipers if you please and make it snappy." If it was good enough for Jason King it was good enough for us.

How times have changed!

The same foreign folk also did a very neat 35mm enlarger which folded down into an attache case. Very James Bond.

I remember buying one from by boss in John Browns as he had moved on to something more flash. And less portable. ::):

There was a persistent rumour that this was all ex-KGB technology, but I suspect it was the ZENIT marketing departmentski pandering to the would-be spy in all of us.
