Works for me too. Neat idea as well. I'd be sold if it could make me stop tilting the bloody camera when I take a shot, thus making it look as though the whole of Scotland sits on a 5 degree fecking slope :evil:

I suffer from that too - even using the guides in the viewfinder I still manage to get squint horizons.

I think I might need to get a built up shoe

I want that! Damn, that is the best f****** thing I saw this year (well, Natalie Portman's bum in Hotel Chevalier might have been better) :D

One question: There are tons and tons of different size screws. What are the name/dimensions of the one shown in the vid?

Thanks =)

Attaching it to a tripod shoe strikes me as a better option, so that just leaves getting a ball of string :)

Thats really neat! I had been considering a monopod as a lightweight travel solution, but this could work, pretty good. I've got some plates left from an old Manfrotto tripod I could use for this.

If anyone's looking for a cheap way to get something to attach the string to the tripod socket on the base of their camera, search on ebay for tripod mounting plates, you can get them dirt cheap.
