I went past 6 lowther terrace the houses behind the old Churchills newsagents at the corner of Great Western Road and Kirklee Road and just noticed that the dwellings are empty and have those metal doors on that the council usually put on old and derelict buildings.

Heres a photo of them, I didn't know until now they were actually Army married quarters does anyone have any further info on them or know if their being redeveloped or what else might be happening to them?

Thanks Its_a_gamp, now that you mention it I did used to see a lot of smartly dressed Asian/Chinese men and women get on the bus at that bus stop but recently I haven't seen them (maybe that's why!!!).

GHA scoop bargain flats block

A block of flats in a prime West End location was snapped up for a bargain price.

Last month, the Evening Times told how the 21-flat block, built as accommodation for army officers, was being put up for auction with an estimated price of £2 million.

Today we can reveal that Glasgow Housing Association bought the block for a bargain £2.25m.

Paying just £107,000 for each flat will be seen as a bargain in an area where flats regularly sell for £200,000 plus.
