Queen Street Tunnel refurbishment

If you are a commuter caught up in all the diversions it probably isn't much fun, but will be interesting to see if they make the August deadline!

I'm guessing they might be under a tiny bit of pressure to get it sorted for the Edinburgh Fringe in August :)

At present theyre on time.

Tunnel trackbed dropped, starting building new platforms for platform 1, and other ones being dug up

I queried the dropping of the trackbed on Twitter, and apparently they aren't actually dropping it at all - because they are using a conductor bar system instead of wires inside the tunnel they don't need to actually drop the elevation of the track - it's all about replacing the slab and the rails.

Which is surprising because I thought the whole thing was to do with putting the electrics in.
