I am sure that the whole Red Road debacle will feature on one of those "demolition gone wrong" documentaries on the Discovery Channel one of these days!

The one being nibbled is totally gone, but the other seems untouched as of 5:15 tonight.

Well you have to admire his determination and tenacity.....

Although it will probably have a "Jaconelli" style conclusion.

The two towers at 99 & 111 Prospecthill Circus, Toryglen are now both empty and being handed over to the demolition contractors.
I was lucky enough to be invited along for a visit last week. The intention was to take a few snaps from the top floor, but we also had a chance to visit a few of the flats.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Alex Glass, who a few HG folks will know.

Superb. Well jealous :)

I particularly like the well-thought-out surveillance camera arrangement there. Though good grief, some of the scenes are sad.*

Brilliant pictures, I work in the council vehicle workshops and we used to be in the Polmadie complex which is in one of the pics. We move to Jessie St 18 months or so back and it was obvious that the flats were becoming less and less occupied going by the number of lights that were on.

One of the Pinkston blocks is being nibbled down at the moment, started about a week ago.

The Herald have said they're keeping schtum about the exact time, but confirm the 8am exclusion. You'd imagine at least an hour after that, maybe more, to make sure the area's cleared?

40 Rosemount Street, Roystonhill (or Garngad if you like ) all ready for execution and looking rather pretty in the sunshine last week. This is the last blowdown in the current programme as far as I know?
