14 Shaftesbury Street Demolition

Postby The Egg Man » Fri Apr 26, 2013 4:50 pm

This is possibly the least informative demolition thread ever but it looks as if the tower block behind St Vincent Terrace at the end of William Street is ready to come down. Windows and residents removed already.

I dunno the proper address and I don't know when it'll come down - or how.

We always thought of them as downtown
Tirana (suited the outlook of 1977SSHA(?))

Protected parking crazy jobsworths,
You can barely stop to get a roll from
Clark's Diary. Hardly causing an issue
blocking residents spaces, 7 minutes fhs.

Friend had a work experience schoolgirl
that lived there and had 'heirs & graces'
as they say- turned out she was
(ex-Zimbabwean) Aristocracy seeking
refuge from Bob E-ba-gum.
[Er-how come ?]

Main worry - what'll replace them ~
hopefully a retail park with a Halfords,
Bensons & Harry Cory. Don't want any
repeat German Bowling Alley nonsense
in Cranstonhill again.

Noticed this one is all stripped out and wrapped already, unless it is a different block?

Seems sooner than September, early-mid August would be my guess

I'm told kennels have been booked for local dugs for the night before 1st Sept. Mind you, the same source insists the charges are already in place - which I doubt.

Would it be a dreadful imposition to ask a mod to change the thread title to something like 14 Shaftesbury St Demolition ?

It'd be easier to find.

Thanks.

Minister announced in Church yesterday that the congregation of Anderston Kelvingrove will be joining us at Renfield St Stephen's on the 1st of September because their church is in the middle of the exclusion zone - so I assume that's the date that's been set.

Some time after 9:30am going by the Safedem flyer, which I've uploaded to http://sdrv.ms/14Dpp6f - it was too big to attach.

The Sanctuary HA version says 'sometime between 11am and noon on Sunday 1st September 2013'.
