While looking over some maps for locations of old Public Houses i came across the National Panorama in Sauchiehall Street ( http://maps.nls.uk/townplans/view/?sid=74416871&mid=glasgow_2_centre&zoom=3&lat=8477&lon=12353.5&layers=B ) .
I wanted to see if any pictures of the panorama existed and came across a pamphlet "Guide to the Great Scottish National Panorama" ( http://digital.nls.uk/79484020) that additionally mentions "The Scottish Panorama Company" .
No picture of the panorama itself.

"The Scottish Panorama Company" was itself wound up in 1892 the year of the map ( http://www.edinburgh-gazette.co.uk/issues/10388/pages/951/page.pdf )( Bottom right, continued over page )

a) Does anyone have other info ?
b) What were the 2 pubs at the entrance ?
c) Any images of other panoramas that were created ?

Thanks

( be careful with that pamphlet and the nls site, once you start reading the pages you will be lost for a few hours searching many other names )

The one on the left is The Sports Bar. Closed for some time but a favourite with the monkey keepers.

1889 - 1891
Bannockburn Panorama

1892 - 1894
Waterloo Panorama

1895
Bannockburn Panorama

1896
Glasgow Real Ice Skating Palace Limited

The Public House at the sides of the enterance to the building (which was a restaurant) appears to be part of the Panorama building and are not listed as seperate Public Houses.

The resaurant appears to have been run by Mr.A.M.Thiems who also owned the Windsor Hotel in St Vincent Street, Glasgow. ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/robertpool/3229137152/ )
