All the shops currently there get to vote on who to let in.
They didn't want a maccie D's as they thought it would bring the schoolies in.
I don't see why a burger king would be any different.

:D when you state that all the shops get a vote as to who to let in.....I hope that this will not begin a system whereby the 'poorer of us' may be barred from the Centre for not wearing good enough clothes or whatever, about time Silverburn took note and smell the air......you built a Centre to attract money.....to be so restricted, you should have built it in Newton Mearns.
Now that they 'slum-it' coming down to Pollok, perhaps your upmarket shoppers will decide what the people of Pollok deserve, am surprised that Primark getting in......all those things for a £pound...tut, tut

I visited a couple of weeks just to see what it's like. I'd been expecting a cross between Princes Sq and Buchanan Galleries. It struck me as being across between the Fort (I've not been) and Braehead.

As for 'good enough clothes' - most of the women were dressed like SFL SEcond Division footballer's ex-shagees.

I still like Silverburn. Riff-Raff mixing with the rest of us.

The Riff-Raff have the Bingo and Farmfoods. I know for a fact the most of the Riff-Raff would not set foot in Silverburn if Farmfoods sold fags.

I am glad that more cheaper and affordable shops are going into Silverburn. You always get the impression that the centre was never built for the people of Pollok but for those a little south of the M77, not naming places. But apart the lack of choice of shops I think Silverburn is a good shopping centre with excellent design and architecture. It's much nicer than Braehead or East Kilbride because it feel's modern, dynamic and different. One thing is for certain Tesco probably won't be complaining at the new cheap arrivals because it is already busy enough as it is for example around 80,000 shoppers a week shop at the store that's well over 320,000 shoppers a month making it officially Scotland's busiest supermarket. In terms of sales it makes around on average £2 million a week and in the last few days running up to last Christmas made £4 million. One thing the owners of Silverburn might do is address the problem of parking. It has well over 4,500 spaces but there never seems to be enough. The person who designed the car park was probably on drugs because at times it can be a nightmare getting in to Tesco.

There's probably a formula somewhere about how many access road/ width thingies you need per car parking space per hour of opening and, whilst putting an upper deck on the T*sco car park wouldn't be too difficult (I guess*), getting the traffic in and out might be.
