anderston centre empty plot

Sorry if this has been covered already but I was wondering about the empty plot which is now used as a car park. It is situated between pitt st and douglas st on the west/east, bothwell st to the north and waterloo to the south. I am assuming it was part of the anderston centre and you can see remnants of the old building still. Does anyone know if it was flats or shops or what? There is an interesting bridge to nowhere there too!

If its this plot your talking about,It was supposed to be a Hotel , dont think it will ever get built though.
