Will this actually mean 800 additional call centre workers? I understood there's a base level of call centre workers which doesn't vary in number all that much but that, because of seasonal demand etc, call centre workers migrate from one job to another.

If Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose and Sainsbury's actually created all the jobs they've claimed in press releases we would all be stacking shelves.

That'll be 800 Temporary jobs

'Tesco Personal Finance' - that'll be the name on the tin but you can bet your grannies insurance book that the actual employer will be some unknown HR contractor so that in a few years time when the operation is wound up, the 800 folk sent doon the road and the contract sent off to the sub continent Tesco can wring their hands and say its nothing to do with them.

Only if it's an incoming call centre and with employment levels as they are and will be there will be plenty of graduates ready to staff them here.

Has anyone managed to track down how much public money is being given to Tesco for each of those jobs?
