Hi Sharon
Well done for signing up. I appear to have, er, misread the site
The FAQ says:

Can I add further people in to an existing team? Yes, just make sure that the team name is spelled exactly the same.

So it looks as if you (Sharon) can add other people to the team, rather than other people adding themselves to a team you have registered. Sorry. If I send you my details and a cheque could you add me to the team?

Well, I have emailed them to ask how to use their crap website.

I believe the team name was "Hidden Glasgow" but have no way of confirming this.... fucking apalling usability, you'd think they don't want people to take part!!!

I am imagining that you just put "Hidden Glasgow" into the team name then magically and mystifyingly a team will be built... but at the moment I have no clue.

Why didn't you just call the team The Glasgow Rides?

Can you let us know Sharon,

It doesn't seem to be possible to join an existing team. As for Ronnie, perhaps you could add me.

Thanks,

Being cheeky, I missed getting the Proms in the Park tickets, any chance of a couple? :D

I'm still rarin' to go and have got my old cycling cape and so'wester down from the attic. There's a spring in the old cycle clips yet. Will be happy to comply with whatever the plan is regarding signing up, paying up, etc.

Hi all

I know I've been quiet recently - got distracted by some music sites and stuff, I do drop in from time to time, but never really had anything to add!

But anyway I got my pack thru yesterday and since I'm #118 so I'm looking for sponsorship from some pretty major telephone directory companies.

I reckon it'll take me about 5/6 hours and doing it for Diabetes UK Scotland.

As way of practice I cycled down to Irvine yesterday using route 7 - nice and easy to Lochwinnoch and then someone at the national cycle network reckoned there weren't enough hills with wind from the coast on the route. Did spot some strange features in a former railway cutting, old wooden and steel bridges for taking streams overhead and not falling onto the railway itself.

Hi,

Anyone plan on doing a return journey on the Glasgow-Edinburgh route? Round trip is approximately 110 miles. Should take maybe 8-10 hours in total. Gruelling but certainly worth it.

If anyone is wanting a training session then I will be doing the Glasgow-Balloch run over the next few weekends - round trip is approx 40 miles (50 including my journey time to and fro house)

Cool, looks like there will be a good number of us :)

I'm definitely not fit enough to manage a round trip - maybe next year!

I have tried emailing the numpties who run the website for advice on how to register a team or to add memebers to no avail - their advice was useless. Their utterly unusable website must be costing them entrants - my sister told me she abandonded trying to register twice!!

Anyway, it is possible to do, but I haven't a clue how to do it as a team (no visible way of adding members) so self registering seems to be the thing to do. *sigh*. It's not a competition though so don't suppose it matters" You could try adding "Hidden Glasgow" as the team...or not!!

Might be up for a glasgow to balloch round trip next weekend - although be warned I am not quick and not on a road bike!

There is this run on Sunday 30 August:

Looks like it is on the Kelvin and Forth and Clyde Canal trails. I'll be doing this.

Enjoy Ken. I had a wee cycle yesterday, from the house along the Kelvin and Clyde to Cambuslang (20 miles total). It's maybe the same from Bell's Bridge to Balloch (train home!). Evening cycle sounds great, maybe with an early start (I don;t have lights yet).
Best, R
