Despite miserable weather and light for photos, managed to get some decent stuff between Thorntonhall and Hairmyers, an unusual one at EK, around the loop at East Kilbride and at Hairmyers Station

Aly and ian

Just looked at your pics, absolutely brilliant, also loved the rest of your sets, the 303s brought back memories of when i worked on the railways in 1991.

Cheers

I don't know much about trains. Although i have always been interested in them when i see one.

Is there anything special about the McBuffer Puffer Diesel Unit in terms of it being rare these days etc. Is that type of Diesel still in use or is it almost obsolete?

I see from Alycidons timetable that it is due to pass Mount Florida at 2030. I'll nip down and keep an eye out for it at the bridge.

That's what I did, went down to my nearest station and waited.
It was cool to see people out the windows waving at the people watching.

Typical train. 2030 at Mount Flo means 2037. It just passed i think, well it was not a electric one anyway. I saw the yellow bits on the Engine from my Living Room window.... too cold for the bridge idea.

There were a number of cars coincidentally? going down Cathcart Road in a wee convoy as the train passed. Wonder if they were train buffs following it.

But i never saw a pink Spitfire.

I was on the platform itself at Mount Florida, I thought I saw someone hanging around up on the path to Battlefield Road :-)

These were 2 class 37 locomotives, very rare for passenger trains nowadays, and most probably on their way out sooner rather than later.

I forgot all about this :( gutted

I would have liked to intercepted it at one point for a couple of pictures... the class 37s were always my favourite locos when I was a kid. Have still got 2 class 37 model trains safely stored away at my mums house

Here's one on our home turf - didn't come out well because the locos were pretty much idling through, and the lack of daylight :-)

Caught a glimpse of it as it sped through Scotstounhill Station.
They are not rare locos but don't regularly work some of the lines that they were on yesterday.

I love the sound of the Class 37.

I live in Anniesland at the cross and knew when it was coming as I heard it from my livingroom yesterday morning.

There is no opinion, however absurd, which men will not readily embrace as soon as they can be brought to the conviction that it is generally adopted.
