Thanks Jim.

Out of interest, when was the last time GQS saw a steam loco?

Typical they have it the same day as the 303 is due to be out working at Bo'ness! Dilemmas..

Any idea what the bank engine will be?

Cheers,

David

Last time a locomotive was in Queen Street was on the 3rd of October 1993 when L.N.E.R. class A4 pacific no. 60009 "Union of South Africa" worked out of the station on the Glasgow to Edinburgh centenery specials. (Incidentally that was the day the photograph that my avatar was based on was taken). That shot was from around the top of Cowlairs bank with the locomotive working wrong line. Sundays locomotive is ex LMS Black 5 No. 45407, with class 37 diesel 37261 earmarked for banking and ECS (sorry empty coaching stock) workings.

If I'm feeling particularly masochistic I might cycle along the towpath to Westerton on Saturday. Otherwise it's Sunday at Queen Street.

Cheers for the info Alycidon not that I'll be making a booking in the near future @ those prices.

Fortunately I've had the opportunity of the 'Best' seat on the Scotsman a number of years ago working it down to Ayr and back of all places.

And the punters even chipped in £20 for the Crew when we changed over at Polmadie! 8)

It was soon pissed up the wall in the 'International' on Aikenhead Road IIRC. ::):

I bet that doesn't happen now. The Tip that is 8O ::):

You must have been standing just in front of me when you took your first pic,

I was halfway along the platform near the youngish couple with the two kids.
