A good list that and its refreshingly indigenous too. What is a shame is the timing of the exhibition. 27th to the 29th is not only bloody short its a holiday weekend to boot. Are GCC trying to make it difficult to see?! Bit blink and you miss it! Why can't they do a Glasgow Bridge and have a web site as well or at the very least have to up and running for slightly longer? Even if they put images on the GCC website for instance. It may be a small building but the site is incredibly important to Glasgow. Especially so given the passion that the Victorian's put into each piece of sculpture that was erected.

Could be worse, it could be on display in the basement in a locked filing cabinet in the back of a disued lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard.'

Pics of the entrants can be seen here:

Personally, I like the one that appears to involve removing the 1960s hotel extension that covers up the end of Queen St Station roof!

I think it could a case of KAP really getting a bit carried away with the brief and showing what it could "potentially" be like... alot of good ideas and wishful thinking. But from what I could gather the brief really will actually only allow development on a fixed footprint in the square.

Be nice if that went though... it would be nice to see Queen Street.

I kinda did previously...but strip away all the fanciful stuff and the final result is very plain.

I voted for Block and tehir heathery and water creation... at least it introduces a boit of plantlife and colour back... if not a bit twee...

There really was nothing inspiring on offer though. Boring.

The expenditure on the George Square cafe over three years could build us one new primary school

So, can we assume that a new primary school will get built instead?

How much could they have got with the wasted £24,000? Funded one primary school teacher maybe?

It seems the comment about the primary school might be an elaboration of actual truth as per SpaceInvaders comment on page 2 of the SkyScraperCity thread: Cafe scrapped?
