I had deliberately avoided reading anything about the production prior to going to see it.

It fell slightly on the right side on the scale of expectations, i.e. it was good.

There were ten or fifteen minutes of wonderfulness, the main one of which had the lead actor metamorphosing into Ivor as he played the harmonium. And the same of appallingness. What the hell was that 'Knees up Muvva Brahn'-esque clapalong at the very end all about?

I was very impressed by Sandy Grierson, though.
