Hope so - it'd be nice to meet you. I'm fair looking forward to it in general.

Forecast would make it the best day of the week for a walk. Slightly worried about sinkholes though, given the amount of rain we've had and the park's history.........

A grand day out, even with the deteriorating weather. Thank the gods for the Hunter's Tea!

Thoroughly enjoyed the day despite the rain, thanks to John for organising it.

Nice to meet you both, Grahame & Stevie Boy. 23 folk turned up for the walk. Nice relaxing beers in the Sherbrooke Hotel & a wee curry to finnish. Thanks for the walk, John.

Chickened out on the Sherbrooke, damm shouldn't have.

Great walk Gaucho with the usual HG challenging weather, it certainly blew the cobwebs free. Great company, so good to see a whole bunch of familiar faces and a couple I hadn't have the pleasure of before.

Thoroughly enjoyed the walk and the Bowmore  You know who you are

Wide lens is wiiide :D

Grand to see everybody, so it was. Here's a smaller bit of Charles Rennie's thing:
Image

Bunnies and/or something. A very small part of a sculpture; if it's by the same fella as did Hugh MacDiarmid's memorial thing near Langholm, then it's made of a type of steel that's intended to rust quickly, thereby making its own protective coating. If not, it's probably just rusty:

Spotted by VT, a memorial-in-waiting for the Bluevale/Whitevale towers:

And tea for afterwards:

Why not. And so off we went, enjoying the beauty around us:

Ciao.

It may be the same type of steel that was used on the 'Callanish' sculpture at Strathclyde University:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/hollowhorn/116012538

Sculptor Gerald Laing was commissioned by the University to produce a public steel sculpture as part of a landscaping project aimed at restoring some greenery to the Townhead area. Situated at the highest natural point on campus, Callanish is based on the standing stones at Callanish in the Western Isles. Sixteen free-standing steel abstract pillars on a concrete base are spread over an area occupying half an acre. The sculpture is often referred to as "Steelhenge", by mistaken association with Stonehenge, a term which obscures its Celtic origins.
Yes Bridie, you do.
