Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust Open Day

Postby GlasgowGaz » Mon Sep 30, 2013 9:12 pm

It's the Annual Open Day at the GVVT's Bridgeton Bus Garage on Sunday 13th October from 10am-5pm.

The GVVT throws open it's doors to allow visitors to view the buses and commercial vehicles which are kept at Bridgeton Bus Garage as well as some visiting vehicles. As usual, the popular traditional high frequency free vintage bus service will be in operation between the Garage and the City Centre and a less frequent link to the Riverside Museum. There will also be stalls selling models/collectables/autojumble etc and refreshments will also be available. GVVT members get free admission, otherwise it's £6 for adults, £4 children/concession and £15 for a family ticket.

Check here for more info and bus timetable http://www.gvvt.org/events/83-gvvt/even ... ation-page

Entrance on Broad Street, free parking on surrounding streets, free bus service from George Square & Killermont St outside Buchanan Bus Stn.

Great day out even if its just for runs onthe auld buses, they also leave from the 'transport' museum, but I would say parking around the garage may be hard as it can get very busy.

Ive visited it the last 6yrs

There is plenty of free parking if you don't mind parking a couple of streets away, the area is full of industry and offices and is plenty much empty on a sunday. As you say better to arrive by vintage bus, every 10 minutes from George Square & Killermont St and half hourly from Riverside Museum. Don't park at Riverside as parking charges apply!
