Our friends at Woodlands Community Garden are having an event on Sunday.

You are invited to our big summer social, taking place this Sunday 16th June from 11am - 4pm.
We've got loads going on at the community garden, in Millenium Park, at the Albany Centre and also along the River Kelvin. We are hoping that the sun will shine, but don't be put off coming if the weather doesn't behave itself - if its raining we have back-up plans to move some activities indoors to the Albany Centre.....

with ONCE UPON TODAY at the Garden
Part of The Glasgow Science Festival and West–end Festival, this free family event will share the story of the garden, some green-fingered crafting tricks and ideas for living more sustainably. Featuring
* morning nature walk led by eco-storyteller, Allison Galbraith - leaving from the rear entrance to Kelvingrove museum at 11am along the path by the Kelvin and up West Princes street up to Woodlands Community Garden. Please book in advance for this walk by emailing – [email protected]
* a repeat of the nature walk, leaving from the garden at 3pm back to the museum where there are plenty of other Science Festival activities going on.
* a visit from Forest Nymph Ariel Killick sharing Nature and Gaelic Tales
* premiere of Nature inspired Performance Poetry from our garden's first ever poetry class, led by perfomance poet and comedian Viv Gee
* planting seeds – a little nature for you to take home
* plus upcycling crafts, recycled sculpturing and information stalls from local environmental organisations and campaigns
Please bring some home baking to share for a feast of cakes in our newly refurbished garden hub

plus WOODLANDS BIG LUNCH from 12 midday
at Millenium Park, Ashley Street
Join folks from Woodlands Community Garden and Flourish House for a feast of food and friendship.
Please bring a dish to share, pull up a chair and get to know your neighbours.
(don't forget to label your food so people know what you have brought)

and BROKEN BISCUITS COOKERY CLUB 12-3pm
at the Albany Centre, Ashley Street

Free cookery activity for adults and children - find out how to make pakora through lively demonstration and hands-on experience.

Looking forward to seeing you there....
