Does anyone on here ever go to T K Maxx?

On my recent trip to Glasgow I bought a pair of memory foam Skechers.
I am pleased with them as they are so comfy but the shoes and trainers do seem to have gone up a lot in price.
There were some other makes available which had some good prices just not in my size.
Well I suppose it's the same for pretty much everything.

Very occasionally, Dot.

But it's rare that they have anything in my size, or to my tastes.

Spleen,

I am 5 foot 7 inches in height but wear an 8 in shoes so all the nicer shoes/trainers always seem to be in the smaller
sizes. Sometimes I envy girls in work who have small feet but then they complain about clothes being too long on them so thankfully I don't have that problem. Sometimes 8 is a little on the big size but it seems rare to see half sizes.

I was a little disappointed at lack of styles available in my size so agree with you on that.

Anybody on here on that new thing called 'Threads' and think it is meant to be like Twitter?

Nope. I barely do Twitter myself anyway.

Does anyone know what happens to tins in multi packs in supermarkets if packaging gets destroyed?
They always seem to have that message on them about not being allowed to be sold separately.

Yesterday I thought I would buy some tins of Lucozade that were in the reduced pile but no prices on them and as no packaging then also no bar codes. The tins were not for myself but thought I would get them for builder doing a wee bit of work to the house. I thought I would chance my arm and see what they said at till as to whether they could be bought for a particular price.
I was advised that they could not sell them to me and they apologised.

Do tins just get given to staff or donated to Foodbank etc?

That guy who went body boarding the other day during the storm.

Why do people do stuff like that?

"It's pishing it down with rain, and blowing a force 9 gale. I think I'll go for a swim."

This is not something that normal people do.

I quite agree with you on that score.

There have been many instances of people told to avoid using certain roads due to heavy flooding and yet these same people do it anyway. Then surprise, surprise they have to be towed by AA or others to safety.

We have had flooding not far from where I live but I try to avoid driving through these huge puddles as they are probably not good for your car in general. If I'm faced with something like this I will either drive slowly at a steady pace or turn back depending on options open to me. I was out earlier today and came across a road which was quite badly flooded in one particular spot.

Nope, too many tracking links for my liking. I'm on Mastodon though, I think that's the future of social networking.

Right :D .

Cockbridge to Tomintoul (A939). Why isn't it on the wireless nowadays, enjoying its traditional fame and fortune as the first road to be blocked with snow every single year without fail? Is this down to giving the gritters more efficient names or just BBC Radio 4 going woke?

Thank you.

Thank you Dot, I am on standby to meet your Civil Engineering needs, I stand on the shoulder of giants, my Irish grandfather came over here from Leitrim in the thirties as a Navvy, so it’s in the blood!

Is it just me, or is it weird that my new downstairs neighbours put a washing on the line overnight?
