Really? We're into the second half of the year. It's Santa territory, isn't it?

I keep my windows closed, stops the heat getting in!

I can't do that. I have large south-facing double-glazed windows and the place turns into an oven when the sun comes out.

17'C, positively tropical by the usual standards.

Obviously if you're fresh off the plane from the Maldives you might feel the chill otherwise it'll be pasty white boadies and buckie all round at Glasgow's many public parks

thermometer is showing 26 Celsuis here in Motherwell, my hawmaws are rostit in my boxers - was thinking of going down to ASDA to buy a bag of ice - but then the heavens opened and it the rain was coming down like stair-rods, very tropical except im stuck in the steel works and its not that tropical.

I don't mind it during the day its the heat through the night thats murder.Sleeping bollock on the top of the sheets with a piece of string tied round the door handle and the tackle as an early alert system should the son come in.

And what's Mrs Fly going to say when your plan goes horribly wrong? I was given my marching orders for proposing something similar. ;)

Rained last night when i was down in airdrie...was a waste of water..still as muggy afterwards.

Even when i booked off at 0012 it was driven home windows (sorta) down and jacket off, i can ever remember doing that before at that time of the night.

I'd prefer a wee breeze, no point opening the windows as nothing would blow through.

I recall a similar experience whilst living in the Caribbean, unfortunately there 26'C was considered cool so you can imagine how unbearable it became. Eventually a hurricane would come through and wipe the place clean but you'd have been left boiling for weeks.
