Between one and one thirty for the past three days here. Lasting about an hour and a half. Culminating each day in me having to venture out in galoshes to locate and rescue a half drowned cat whose sense of direction is apparently impaired by lightening. Either that, or she has not been informed about the not liking water thing.

Yesterday's storm left the front under about 5 inches of water. Local kids got their skateboard out and did a bit of aquaplaning. Great fun to watch.

A very nice sunny 22 celcius in Motherwell today.

Thermometer in the corner of the living room has just registered 28.1C

That's the coolest part of the flat with all the windows open.

Not only hot, but exceptionally clear as well. Could see right past Tinto Hill to the start of the borders from the second floor at Tunnocks.

I heard on the news that in Death Valley National Park where temperatures can reach 128 degrees that Rangers are cracking down on people who have been trying to fry eggs.
It seems there has been a lot of mess made from smashed egg shells to discarded cartons and yellow goo.

The nights aren't easy though :?
Thought about the cost of air-con last night - that would be so cost effective over here ::):

Isn't it nice to have a summer? More please.
All the world seems in tune on a Spring afternoon, when we're poisoning pigeons in the park.

Yes, 'specially around 9pm onwards, delightful. (I believe that's called wine o'clock)

Yes I'm sitting with some chilled wine and the fan is going full tilt.
Think this is first time today I haven't felt sweltered.
