Makes you wish for new laws where you can just belt these pests in the face and tell them "Fuck off and stop being a stupid prick!".

The Creeping Spleen wrote:Preachin' to the choir, mate. Ads today seem to go out of their way to be bland and inoffensive, cuz there's all these bellends out there who seem to take pleasure in being offended on other people's behalf, even when said people couldn't give a crap.

In my entire life, I've never - NEVER - felt the need to complain about a TV show, a book, a film, an advert or whatever.

I don't like something? I don't watch it. Simple as that.

There was a news story I saw on the BBC website last week about some stupid woman in the US who was getting up to high doh about an episode of the kids program "Maya the Bee", because - apparently - one of the animators thought it'd be a jolly jape to draw a knob on a tree in the background of one shot.

Seriously? Do these folks not have anything better to do with their time than go through a wean's TV show - from about four or five years ago apparently - frame by frame, in the hope of finding something they can be offended by?

And sadly, I think that sometimes we are just as guilty for allowing these dickheads to dictate to the majority of us. I know one individual who loves to go to places just to complain about it afterwards and that same person watches certain television programmes with the sheer intent to complain that they've been offended. Personally, I reckon we should be allowed to shoot them, not kill them, just shoot. Then again with the rise in the price of bullets, I've decided tasering them would be more fun and a lot cheaper.... Now, I'll have the pc brigade come to me house along with a SWAT team but seriously, have we forgotten how to laugh and laugh at ourselves?

I had a belter of an idea for a TV show a while ago.

What you'd do is, you'd round up all these useless fuckwits off "Big Brother", "Made in Chelsea", "The Only Way is Essex" and so forth, stick them on the edge of a cliff, and the Great British Public gets to vote which one get punted off first.

I'd call it "The Shove". :)

Could we include politicians in that, perhaps do it as a 'Celebrity' special?

Your idea for that game show appeals to me.. :D

Or we could just punt all the useless fuckers onto an island in the middle of nowhere - and leave them there.

No food, no shelter, no cameras (but we tell them there are), no nothing.

Last one to resort to cannibalism wins.

The Clearscore.com ones with the talking dog, "Wat doin?"

And the new EE one, where Kevin Bacon climbs out of some guy's laundry basket, while the poor bugger is in the bath.

Talking of Kevin and I think I'll remember him more in years to come for the adverts than his films.
The one where he is on the plane and the other one where he appears with Britney.

Yes the laundry basket one is just odd.

I don't like the Audi advert with the clowns.
After all the stories last year at Hallowe'en and people being scared half to death by others dressed as killer clowns.
Who thought that one up?

Your guess is as good as mine, Dot.

I was at MCM Comic Con last month, and in the run up to it the remake of "IT" had just been released. So, of course there were all sorts of knob heads on the MCM Facebook page saying "Yeah! Gonna cosplay as Pennywise and freak people out!"

Which isn't a very nice thing to do if someone is genuinely scared of clowns.

I know the clowns in Audi advert are probably meant to be seen as harmless type ones kids would have at a party or see at
a circus. Perhaps it is just bad timing with it being October and Hallowe'en will be here before you know it.

Last year the two events that I remember hearing about were the clown who chased a pregnant woman.
Think it was in England (Newcastle). In N.I. a school was in lockdown when clowns were rumoured
to be arriving at a school during the day. Luckily that event turned out to be hoax.

It's the start of November, and that means the shite Christmas ads will be rolling out soon.

The current one about Purple Bricks, the new-style estate agent chain. Content not wrong, I understand, as they don't charge commission, but an up-front fee, anything else being additional costs. Just the way the advert runs, set at a wedding reception with the, I assume, father of the bride/groom ranting on in a loud voice. Just really irritates me

The new Irn Bru adverts are just not doing anything for me. The I can't, I can stuff is not holding me fast in my seat.
