It seems some parents were unhappy with Amazon Christmas advert which showed a Dad with pile of presents.
They thought it would spoil magic of Christmas for their children.
Complaints were that it would make children question whether Santa was real.

On the plus side for Amazon their advert was thought to be better than John Lewis one with Moz the Monster.

Yeah, I quite liked the song in the John Lewis ad though.

Have to agree with you there.
I think anything involving 'Elbow' is hard to fault.
Would love to go and see them one day.

I've seen them live three times so far - twice in Glasgow, once in Edinburgh. Would've been four, but their recent gig at the Hydro got rescheduled cos of the snow we had last month, and I couldn't make the new date.

Yes I think some folk disappointed when concert rescheduled.
Obviously no choice in circumstances but people said numbers were smaller than expected and event lacked atmosphere.

Being carer for my poor wee mammy, the original gig being on a Friday was ideal cos it meant my brother could come over after his work to keep an eye on her.

But since it got rescheduled for the following Monday, that was no good for me since there would've been very little time between the gig finishing and me getting back to Central Station to get my last train back to Greenock.

Hopefully you'll maybe get to one in the future and in better weather.

Next gig for me is on Saturday night at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh, a band called Public Service Broadcasting.

I'm going to be in Edinburgh anyway at the weekend for a comic con, so I thought why the hell not. :)

An ad I absolutely love, is the new Argos one - "Operation Holiday".

Family of five, dad, mum, teenage daughter, two younger boys, all going their holidays in a Chinook helicopter.

Saw it for the first time yesterday morning, and I just howled with laughter. :)

Hate that Vodafone Red Entertainment advert where Martin Freeman is on the train and shouts 'What is wrong with you people'.

I thought the Sainsbury's advert with little girl who was singing star on the Christmas tree was a good one.

The Heathrow Bears was easily my favourite of the Christmas ads. But the animated one for Very, the wee girl getting a toy astronaut helmet for her Christmas, then eventually growing up to be an astronaut, that came a close second.

Walmart in the US have got an absolute belter of an ad just now, promoting their "Order online - pick up for free" service, and featuring loads of famous vehicles from movies and TV shows - the "Justice League" Batmobile, Ecto-1, KITT, the Mystery Machine, and the "Back to the Future" DeLorean" to name just a few. You can watch it on YouYube, search for "Walmart Epic Movie Car Commercial". :)

There was an ad I saw last time I was at the pictures - no clue what the hell it was about - some wee bit of scruff is standing on top of a cliff with his shirt off, there's a voice over reciting some poem or other, then scruff jumps off the cliff and starts to plummet to his doom... Only to sprout wings and feathers and turn into a bird.

What the actual fuck? :|
