Yes. I'm unsure what FB did but I read comments about 'the changes'.

that's the same as my wife's account the (same layout) but tonight when i singed into my account the page looked different it was like this F then the search bar much longer than before followed by on the right hand side is the friend requests, messages, then Notifications, home, find friends my name wee padlock settings wheel. no picture any more.
Has Facebook done some kind of update on some Facebook profiles but not all of them its a bit strange i thought, the rest of the page looks the same as before,

every time I shut down my laptop, windows 7 does an update of 1 item. its been doing it for weeks, is this normal. And my lappy seems to be running a bit slower since this started. it an Aspire 5733 if that helps. thanks in advance for any advice.

Windows 7 (and indeed other versions) download updates (if set to do so) and it will install these when you close the computer down at the end of a session. This is quite normal if rather frustrating when you want to pack up and go...

What's probably happened here (and I've seen it before) is that it has carried out the update successfully but then not flagged it as successful. So the next time you use the computer, it still thinks it has an update to carry out. I can't remember offhand which update was doing it last time I had this problem, but your best bet is to consult the Microsoft website to see if they have identified any problems with recent updates behaving as youo have described.

You may need to go into Windows Update and check to see what the recent updates were that it was trying to install. It may say that one of them has failed.

Off topic I acknowledge but each time I switch on my Freeview box it insists it's found new DVB channels yet when I ask it to add them to the available channels it spends 3-4 minutes going through the motions and then tells me 'no new channels have been found'.

I bought a keyboard in Morrisons the other day for about £4.70. It's still working. :)

I think I've been sold a dud hard drive for the price of a new one :x

My original hard drive in my 14 month old laptop was dated March 2012.
It was replaced apparently because it had to be by a new one dated 2009 and it doesn't function.
Mr Repairman reckons it's all my fault because one of my keys is broken and therefore I must be very clumsy with my laptop every time he fixes it and it still doesn't work - I kid you not! :x
