I saw the last half hour or so, and the last ten minutes in particular were a bit backs to the wall-ish for The Engerlund.

Anyway. Far more important is the fact that there's a title match in the Unofficial Football World Championship tomorrow.

Inspired by the perennial Scottish claim to have been Unofficial World Champions after tanking England 3-2 at Wembley after the Dodgy Linesman Final, a group of sad bast.... er, dedicated statisticians traced the lineage from the very first International match in 1872 up to the present day, with the title passing to the team that beats the current holders.

Who are Holland. They're currently three short of the record of 20 defences held by - Scotland.

The UFWC was actually held by the Netherlands Antilles at one point, albeit for one game, after one of the shock international results of all time. Although, as Michael Caine would say, not a lot of people know that.

^ Brilliant!

David Villa's goal tonight was utterly comical. C'mon Spain!

Hande hoch Fritz ; for you the World Cup is over. Brace yourselves for a damn good thrashing from Tommy Atkins!

Field Marshall Rommel, Willie Brandt, Hauptman Ulman from Colditz, Chancellor Merkell, Beckenbauer von Kaiser, Von Ryan's Express... your stormtroopers will take a hell of a beating.

I am supporting the Germans again so that they don't score any penalties. :)

Bye bye England then.

This could end up with an embarrassing scoreline ::):

What goes around comes around.

Anyway, someone's finally drowned out the vuvuzelas.

Best game of the tournament so far I think.

There hasn't been a dull moment since it kicked off.

That's the first time ever that Germany have put four past England.
