I had to laugh when one of the supervisors said to me one day as he handed me something I had asked him to print off.
'There you are young lady' and in all honesty I'm old enough to be his mother.
Well brightened my day as sometimes I feel fine but other days I feel about 100. ::):

I need to reaffirm that, sometimes Dot looks fine, other days she looks at least 100!

Everything with my timesheets is up to date. Until next week. ;)

We're back on the social work stuff again, and it turns out I was doing it wrong the first couple of times.

When we get a file with a Cherished Item (photos, kids drawings etc.) it's the whole file that goes in the appropriate box, rather than just the item itself.

Henrysix,
::):

I have always felt men can look distinguished as they age and I do think in general they tend to wear better.
This is just my opinion and thinking of an example as Martin Kemp who still looks good.
He has nice eyes and a better haircut than in his younger days ::):

TCS,
Glad you got your time sheet sorted.

And we had to stop doing the social work stuff. Again.

Because, again, the initial paperwork we need is wrong.

I took in a big bag of rubber bands yesterday morning. Bought at my own expense cos we're always on the verge of running out.

And what did I find this morning when I got in to work?

Some thieving wee bastard off the nightshift nicked them!

Strangely enough I ordered some off Amazon recently as ones in work were mostly perished.
Perhaps they were poor quality and maybe been sitting in the sun too long.

I think maybe you should keep anything like that in your desk if you have a locked drawer or something.

People are terrible for taking things without asking.
I have always been happy to supply people with tea, coffee etc but prefer to be asked first.
Don't leave anything like that lying in the kitchen anymore.

I'm thinking of buying some laxative chocolate, and just casually "accidentalky" leaving it out for nightshift to find.

I don't mind the guys at my table borrowing a few rubber bands if they're running low, or them getting a loan of my wee dustpan and brush (again, bought at my own expense) when it's time to tidy up.

But in those cases, they ask first.

However, it seems as though I've a limited pool of suspects in the Case of the Rubber Band Thief.
Including the team lead, there's only five people work nights.

I shall investigate further.

The Creeping Spleen,

Any sightings of the Rubber Band Thief?

I am glad to say mine seem to be lasting well though I did buy a big bag and many people are finding them very useful.

No further sightings, nope.

But honestly, the nightshift crew are a bunch of feckin' gannets.

The crisps and snacks vending machine got a full restock on Monday morning, and what did we find the next day?

The buggers have damn near picked the thing clean!

All the good stuff's gone!

We had vending machines in the past which stocked drinks and snacks but not any more.
I think part of the problem was certain items were going past their eat by/sell by dates.
Perhaps they should have made a note of what items were being purchased and what ones were less popular.

Now if you want anything like that you can either bring it in or go to the nearest Savers or Centra stores.

I don't think Centra have any stores outside of Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland in case anyone was wondering.

We've got a good selection of stuff and it changes on a fairly regular basis.

The snack machine has the usual crisps and chocolates, plus the occasional batch of iced flapjacks.

Soft drinks, we have Irn Bru, bottled water, Yazoo flavoured milk drinks, fruit juices, energy drinks etc.

Can't nip to the shops, we're up the top of a big hill in the middle of nowhere. Nearest shops are in Gourock, about a fifteen minute drive there and the same again back.

Well I suppose that makes sense in those circumstances.

i remember my mother making flapjacks many years ago but not iced ones.
She also made lovely coconut biscuits, ginger cake, ginger biscuits and a fabulous chocolate cake.
One of my favourite things was the home made toffee.

The ginger cake with a wee drop of butter was just the best ever.
I could go on but enough of my blethering.

You can see why I have always had a bit of a sweet tooth.
