Could not be happier for her .. it's been a long time coming after all the hard work of her degree and subsequent job hunting.

Ooohh … missed this, both here and FB! Well done Doorstop lass! :D

Photographer Zoltan Kerenyi of Budapest, Hungary has created this incredible gallery he calls 'Window to the Past'. He captures snapshots of times gone by in such a way that, while being rooted in reality, the images created form something new by merging the power of the past with that of the present. See for yourself...

They are extremely well done, pingu. Good stuff. Speaking of which, and the link won't work long, the marvellous Jonathan Meades (who is the closest we'll ever have to a John Peel of architectural history and critique) has gone and done a series on brutalist architecture, and this is episode one:

*Edit* Episode two is up too, now.

The last time any broadcast had my full and undivided attention was the first episode of "Sherlock". Meades manages a whole episode and a half before uttering "unprecedented" - and then in its proper meaning. I couldn't tell you when I last had to watch anything with a dictionary in my lap. Proper telly. Everything else is crap.

You have two hours on Brutalist architecture without deviation, hesitation or repetition...

Sceptical here. It's what's normally though of as being good at reading, is it not? Just read a lot. Buy or borrow books. No app required, and no shortcuts. Just read.

You've probably never seen a place like this, outside of a Terry Gilliam film or a nightmare. Ponte City in Johannesburg:

Strangely fascinating place, once you get over the initial horror of that 'core'. Here's a short documentary too:
