Mods and old times (the demolition spree of the noughties)

I haven't been here in a long time but I used to really enjoy discussing the spate of demolitions in Glasgow back in about 2008, in the Glasgow Development boards - e.g.: http://hiddenglasgow.com/forums/viewtop ... =31&t=7380

It's been sad to learn about the passing of Lucky Poet and Josef, whose names popped up regularly in those threads.

It's also been sad to see that the communal Google Map we'd made has fallen victim to its own openness for editing - all the markers of the old tower blocks that came down have been cleared out by someone who presumably thought they were doing a good clear-out job. The only thing left in it is a box around the old police station, which is a much newer bit of demolition than anything discussed way back then - https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid= ... sp=sharing

If anyone knows whether BrigitDoon or HelenD are still around and posting under any other names, drop me a direct message (or either of them a direct message to let them know I've said I was looking for them) and I'd be very grateful.

Incidentally, having a look at the mod team's profiles, it looks like only one of them has logged in in 2023, and that was 4 months ago. Are the boards doing ok? I'd hate to see all of this history get lost if the last active mod was hit by the proverbial bus 8O

Scott yes that’s the way it is, very depleted here now, I was on previously as Wee Harry but somehow lost my registration, kids these days just want Instagram, and to be fair chat rooms can become addictive so let’s plough on with the few of the rabble like me that we have left!
