I could go on

Being old has its benefits!!

I can tick all those boxes, even substituting Greens for the Apollo.

You're having a wank and have to stop half way though because you're all out of breath, and by the time you've got your wind back, you're not in the mood any more.
Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

I feel the need to give this a wee round of applause.
All the world seems in tune on a Spring afternoon, when we're poisoning pigeons in the park.

I can top that.

About 15 years or so ago, I worked in the press office of a local talking newspaper. Our computers were so old, they still used 5" floppy discs, and a word processing package called WordStar.

We got broken into once. Nothing was taken. In fact the neds took one look at our shitty equipment and left us half a bottle of Irn Bru as compensation.

It takes you a good fifteen to twenty minutes to work up the energy to crawl out of bed after your alarm goes off.

A warm glow takes over when you find that Tartan Special is available in cans again. Not only that but I then acted like an old Grannie by buying four cans for the end of October (when I will be off Tramadol by then) just in case.

You gauge how good your day is when pain from problem A isn't as bad as discomfort from problem B or when that same ethos applies to bloodloss from operation scars.

You find yourself referring to one of two boxes of tops and jumpers as 'winter stuff'.

You look at your hair and decide that's it; number one all over from now on so it doesn't look as if I'm trying to disguise going bald.

I don't turn for for another seven weeks; when and why did this happen?
Cleggy you snickering floppy eared hound when courage is needed, you're ne'er around.
Those medals you wear on your moth-eaten chest should be there for bungling at which you are best.

You walk past a secondary school at chucking out time, and think "Schoolgirls never looked like that when I was in school."

You have to stop every few yards to catch your breath, maybe holding onto a railing or a lamp post, and people look at you as if you're drunk.

You walk past a Primary School at chucking out time, look at all the yummy mummys, and think "People's mums never looked like that when I was that age..."

When you find some posts could cause a little bit of alarm because some could deem them to have inappropriate connotations.
